Day Three sharpened the focus on governance and credibility. At the Intergovernmental Summit, Tanzania’s Minister of Minerals, Anthony Mavunde, stressed that mineral wealth is only the starting point. Prosperity depends on transparency, planning and institutional strength.
Discussions involving the DRC and Zimbabwe centred on beneficiation, infrastructure and industrial strategy. Mining was positioned not just as extraction, but as a platform for value creation, regional integration and long-term economic growth.
AI-driven exploration and digital drilling tools featured prominently. Faster data processing and greater precision are reshaping operations, yet the consensus was clear: innovation enhances performance, but human judgement remains essential.
