Mark is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Energy and Natural Resources Practice, based in Johannesburg. Bringing more than two decades of strategic consulting experience to the firm, he specializes in helping clients navigate complex operational and organizational challenges in the mining and heavy industry sectors. His deep understanding of these industries and the continent, combined with his hands-on approach to problem solving, enables him to deliver solutions that not only work on paper but are also effective in practice. Mark’s on-the-ground knowledge spans 18 African countries, where he has consistently delivered value by navigating the unique challenges and opportunities present in each region. Most recently, Mark has been partnering with private sector clients to understand opportunities to play an active role in revitalising South Africa’s transport systems by turning logistics networks into strategic assets and creating sustainable growth. He has spoken widely on this topic at leading industry conference, as well as been quoted by leading industry publications. Before joining Oliver Wyman, Mark held senior roles at top-tier consulting firms where he honed his strategic and operational expertise. He has a BSc in Electrical Engineering and a MBA from the University of Oxford.
