Master of Science in Applied Geology Candidate, Intern/Research Analyst Assistant
Project Blue

I am a Master of Science (MSc) candidate in Applied Geology at the University of the Western Cape, holding an Honours degree in Geology. My academic training is complemented by practical experience in geological fieldwork, data analysis, and technical reporting, with a strong focus on mineral exploration and resource evaluation. I have worked as an Educator Assistant in the Department of Geology, supporting undergraduate laboratory instruction and geological data interpretation. I also served as a Research Analyst Assistant at Project Blue, where I contributed to market and technical research on manganese, focusing on its use in steel strengthening and battery-grade applications. My role included acquiring and analysing information on manganese exploration projects globally, compiling project databases, assessing development stages, and supporting technical and market reports. I also have experience in mineral exploration fields, supporting geological mapping and sampling programmes. My interests lie in mining, mineral exploration, and sustainable resource development on a global scale, and I am keen to engage with industry professionals and explore collaboration opportunities across the mining value chain.
