Jono Gay is the Chief Executive Officer of ChromTech Holdings, a South African mining and industrial group with interests spanning chrome, PGMs, and nickel, alongside complementary downstream and local industrial activities including cementitious brick manufacturing and steel trading. He brings deep operational and commercial experience across the mining value chain, with a strong focus on building resilient, competitive businesses in challenging operating environments. Under Jono’s leadership, ChromTech has pursued disciplined growth, operational excellence, and pragmatic sustainability, navigating key sector challenges such as energy security, logistics constraints, cost inflation, and regulatory complexity. He is particularly engaged in advancing responsible resource development that balances commercial viability with long-term socio-economic impact. Beyond operations, Jono is a strong advocate for meaningful community partnership and shared value creation. Through ChromTech’s social investment vehicle, Titali NPC, he has championed initiatives focused on education, digital access, and leadership development in mining-affected communities, reinforcing the role of mining as a catalyst for inclusive growth.
