Fred Kabanda has over 32 years of practical experience in natural resources policy, regulation and commercial settings with a focus on the extractives. He is currently the Head of Non-Renewable Natural Resources Division at the African Natural Resources Management and Investment Centre of the African Development Bank. He oversees work streams in mining, oil, gas and natural capital sectors. Fred represents the Bank at boards of several institutions including being the Bank’s representative on the EITI Board as an observer. He previously worked for the government of Uganda in the ministry of energy and mineral development for over 20 and taught geology at university for close to a decade. He is a trained Geoscientist and Engineer with membership affiliation to several professional bodies. Fred holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology and MSc in engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has undertaken several management and leadership programs across the world. He has published widely on extractives resources management.
