Dr. Lawrence Bbosa is the Executive Manager of the Mineral Processing Division (MPD) at Mintek, where he directs efforts to develop innovative metallurgical solutions that help large and small-scale mining companies transform low-value, impure minerals into commercially viable concentrates. He has worked in mining for 20 years, mainly in R&D and as a consultant on industry funded projects and campaigns for mining companies worldwide. The MPD provides vital products and services to the metallurgical industry, conducting projects throughout Africa and the wider globe. Through collaborations with industry stakeholders and institutions, Dr. Bbosa continues to drive innovation and promote sustainable practices in alignment with circular economy principles within the mining sector, particularly in the reprocessing of waste and the recovery of critical metals necessary for emerging green technologies. He is committed to the mission of empowering entrepreneurs and fostering economic development in Africa through innovative and socially responsible investments. Dr. Bbosa holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and an MBA specializing in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the Graduate School of Business. He is also a Certified Director with the Institute of Directors South Africa (IODSA).
