He joined Ecobank Guinea 14 years ago as Head of EBS, playing a key role in the Group-wide restructuring of the function through the implementation of robust policies and best practices. In 2022, he transitioned to Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) as a Global Corporates Relationship Manager and Credit Analyst. In December 2023, Abdoulaye was appointed to lead the newly created Mining & Chinese Business Division, strategically positioning Ecobank Guinea at the heart of the mining sector, with a strong focus on the Simandou Project (world’s largest integrated mining and infrastructure project with USD 20 billion investment). Following strong early results, the Bank established the Mining & Chinese Desk in August 2024, encompassing Corporates, SMEs, and Employees, and entrusted Abdoulaye with its leadership. Under his direction, the Desk successfully converted all major mining stakeholders, significantly increasing Ecobank’s market share and contributing - directly and indirectly - to over +35% of the Bank’s revenues. Very passionate and focused on achieving goals, Abdoulaye is recognized for building strong ecosystem pollination, driving high returns, and accelerating business growth. He holds three (3) Master’s degrees in Computer Science, Banking and finance, Corporate Management, one (1) MBA, and a Global Executive MBA, along with multiple professional certifications in corporate finance, commodities, leadership, and mining.
