Eclectic art and culinary delights 

Whilst first time attendees should try to fit in Table Mountain (a great sunset option) Cape Point and perhaps a visit to Cape Town’s winelands, both new and returning visitors might be keen to experience some of the city’s lesser known offerings. Cape Town has a rich heritage and is a well-known as an art, food, wine and cultural destination. Vibrant Township Culture

One could also visit the many Craft Beer or Gin distilleries that have sprung up in and around the city. Perhaps experience some of our vibrant township culture by taking a short trip to Langa or Khyalitsha. Interested in wild life? Aqilla Safari Park is located some two hours from the city.

If you are bringing a partner how about a Cape Malay cooking experience in the colourful “Bo Kaap” quarter on the slopes of signal hill, or for those arriving a little early there is the Cape Town Coffee Festival at City Hall on the 2nd and 3rd February. The Hop on Hop off red bus is a great way to see the city and Table Mountain and stops at Camps Bay beach for sun worshippers.
 

The music scene

In terms of performance, the Mother City has it all, from jazz clubs to Lounge Bars and concert halls. Why not take a 15 minute drive from the city centre to a popular hotspot, La Parada Constantia Nek, hosts Sunday Funday, where a DJ wows the crowds with live dance and house tracks or spend a leisurely Saturday afternoon lunch at Beluga close to the city centre where they have live music between 1.30pm and 5pm.

Best known for its beautiful clientele and brilliant cocktails, Asoka is one of Cape Town’s oh-so-trendy lounge, restaurant and bar venues. Housed in an old Victorian home on Kloof Street, the swish dinner-and-drinks hotspot features live jazz every Tuesday from 8pm to 10pm.
